Daniela Uccello,
soprano born in Messina, began studying piano and
singing with her mother and obtained a diploma with
honors. She upgraded at the Mozarteum of Salzburg
under Rita Streich, at the Opera teaching
centre of the Scala Theatre in
Milan
and under Carla Castellani. She boasts a very
wide opera and concert repertoire that includes
traditional characters (Violetta, Manon, Susanna)
and lesser-known works such as Cimarosa's
Italiana in Londra, Galuppi's Arcadia in Brenta,
Donizetti's Torquato Tasso, and Sammartini's Memet.
She has staged numerous contemporary music
performances of the works of renowned composers (Manzoni,
Furrer, Yun, Morricone etc.) and is perfectly
acquainted with the lieder repertoire of Mozart,
Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Strauss, Wolf,
Hindemith, Schönberg, performed alongside leading
pianists. Among the theatres and Festivals where she
has performed: San Carlo of Naples, Maggio
Musicale Fiorentino, Ravenna Festival, Sferisterio
of Macerata, Massimo Theatre of Palermo, Academy of
Santa Cecilia (Rome), Smetana Theatre of Prague,
Milano Musica, Festival MiTo, Opera Theatre of
Budapest, Auditorium of the Flanders Philharmonic,
Metropolitan Museum of New York, Auditorium of
Istanbul, etc. with the direction of Arturo
Tamayo, Edoardo Müller, Gabriele Ferro, Gianandrea
Gavazzeni, Woldemar Nelsson, Daniele Gatti, Carlo
Rizzi, George Sebastian, Simon Preston and many
others. She has made numerous radio and TV
recordings with Radio Lugano, Radio Sofia,
Hungarian RadioTelevision, Vatican Radio, RaiTv
and has cut records with Foné, Akademia,
Bongiovanni, BMG Ricordi, Quadrivium, Dynamic.
For some years she is teaching Vocal Chamber Music
at the "G. Verdi" Conservatoire of Music in Milan.
Gian Luca Pasolini

Gian Luca Pasolini,
born in Riccione, studied first at the conservatory
in Bologna and then in Pesaro where he graduated
with the highest marks with Robleto Merolla,
completing his studies with Alain Billard (Accademia
Verdi Toscanini) and Bernadette M anca
di Nissa (Accademia Maggio Musicale
Fiorentino).In 2007 he received his Bachelor’s
degree with highest honors in Opera at the
Conservatorio “L. Cherubini” in Florence under the
guidance of Benedetta Pecchioli and Marta
Taddei.
Winner of many prizes,
he took first place in the Chamber Music section in
the Vocal Competition at San Pietro in Vincoli
Ravenna, and made his debut in 1999 at the Teatro
Comunale di Bologna, in Paisiello’s Il
Barbiere di Siviglia. In
Bologna he performed Monteverdi’s Ritorno di
Ulisse in Patria , and then sang this opera
on a tour in 2000-2001 that took him to Erlangen,
Marsiglia, Vancouver and Los Angeles. In
2003 he sang I. Stravinskij’s Pulcinella
and G. Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi
(conductor Nir Kabaretti, director
Mario Monicelli) for the Maggio Musicale
Fiorentino in Florence and inaugurated with
Carmina Burana by C. Orff the
Stagione Sinfonica of the Teatro Bellini
in Naples. In 2004 he took part in the first
modern performances of Il geloso sincerato
by Giuseppe Nicolini at the Teatro Comunale
of Piacenza and the Teatro Sociale in
Mantova (conductor
Fabrizio Dorsi, director Enzo Dara)
and Don Falcone by Jommelli in
Sondrio, where in was recorded by Bongiovanni.
He has also performed the role of Cavalier Belfiore
in Rossini’s Viaggio a Reims
(conductor Nir Kabaretti director Emilio
Sagi) and was part of the cast in the production
of Pigmalione by Donizetti (conductor
Carlo Montanaro director Franco Gervasio)
and Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte (conductor
Gerard Korsten director Jonatan Miller)
for Florence’s
Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. In 2005 he took
part in the first performance ever in Italy of
Oliver Knussen’s
Where the wild things are (conductor
Roberto Polastri director Amy Lucknbach),
in Musorgskij’s Boris Godunov
(conductor Semyn Bychkov director Einuntas
Necrosius) and in Traviata
(conductor Renato Palumbo director
Cristina Comencini) for the Maggio Musicale
Fiorentino.
He also sang in Elisabetta Regina di
Inghilterra by Rossini (conductor Renato
Palumbo director Roberto Abbado) at
Bologna’s Teatro Comunale. He sang in the
first performance in modern day of the Ape
musicale by Lorenzo Da Ponte, in the 1789
version, (conductor Attilio Cremonesi
director Michail Zaniecki) at the Teatro
Pergolesi in Jesi and at the Teatro Da Ponte
in Vittorio Veneto. He also sang Carmina
Burana (conductor Lorenzo Fratini)
for the Teatro Verdi in Trieste.
In 2006 he participated in the celebration of the
250° anniversary of Mozart’s birth, singing in
Faenza, at the Teatro Masini with conductor
Saul Zaks and in Rome, Parco della Musica
Auditorium Sinopoli, conductor Lu Jia. He
took part in the musical celebration of M° Zubin
Mehta’s 70° birthday singing Carmina
Burana, in a concert which previewed the
opening of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino
broadcast live by Rai Radio3. He also debuted as Don
Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the
Auditorium delle Magnolie in Abano Terme with
conductor Giulio Svegliado. The Mozart
Festival in Rovereto MART with conductor
Massimigliano Carraro and staging by Massimo
Gasparron, saw his first Mitridate in Mozart’s
Mitridate. A concert version of Verdi’s
Rigoletto welcomed his Duca di Mantov performed
with the Camerata del Titanto at the Teatro
Titano in the Republic of San Marino with
Augusto Ciavatta conducting. He was Riccardo
Percy in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena at
the Teatro Donizetti of Bergamo and the
Teatro Grande in Brescia with conductors
Fabrizio Maria Carminati and Antonino
Fogliani staged by Francesco Esposito.
The production was broadcast by Rai Radio3 and
recorded DVD by Dynamic. Gianluca Pasolini
started out the year 2007 on tour in Japan,
singing in Otsu and Tokyo at the Bunka Kaikan
Theater with Donizetti’s Anna Bolena
again with Fabrizio Maria Carminati and
Antonino Fogliani (staged by Francesco
Esposito), as Riccardo Percy. In June he made
his debut at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan
in Sostakovic’s Ledi Makbet Mcenkogo uezda
under the baton of Kazushi Ono and stage
director Richard Jones. He returned to La
Scala with Fabio Vacchi’s new opera,
Teneke. in the leading role, Roberto Abbado
conducting with stage director, Ermanno Olmi.
Gian Luca Pasolini
has sung in various music Festivals: Ljubljana,
Vienna, Salisburgo and Santander.
He sang at the celebration of the Anno Verdiano
in 2001 at Ravenna, Bologna
and New York, and for the 103°
anniversary of Verdi’s death at his birthplace in
Roncole di Busseto. He has also
performed for two of Rossini’s birthday anniversarys
in Pesaro (conductor Alberto Zedda). He has
sung in the Johannes Passion by
J. S. Bach in the role of Evangelista and the lead
tenor in the Messia by Haendel,
Litanie Lauretanae and de
Venerabilis Altaris Sacramento by Mozart,
Petite Messe Solennelle and Stabat
Mater by Rossini, Messa di gloria
by Mascagni. Among his recordings: Le ultime
sette parole di cristo sulla croce by
Marchetti, Requiem in memoria di Luigi XVI
by Sarti, Requiem and Messa in
do min. kv 139 by Mozart. Pasolini’s next
engagements find him at La Scala and in Berlin with
Prokofiev’s The Gambler with Maestro
Daniel Barenboim conducting.
Andrea Angelini
(Artistic Dirctor)
Born in Bologna, Italy, Andrea Angelini began
his piano studies as a child, at the Rimini Lettimi
School. He later earned a Bachelor of Music at
Ferrara's Frescobaldi Conservatory. Particularly
interested in piano pedagogy, he studied with
Rita Ferri and Alexander Lonquich. After
earning a Master in Choral Conducting in
1992, he
studied
music therapy with Professor Cremaschi of Milan
University. His interests led him to the choral
field, and he earned a Bachelor studying Liturgical
Music at Modena and at the International Art
Academy in Rome with Fulvio Angius. He also
studied organ at Pesaro's Conservatory of Music.
Since 1988, Andrea Angelini has conducted many
concerts with the choir Carla Amori, in
Italy and abroad. He has also worked with the
Cattolica City Choir and the Cesena Lyric
Choir. In 1996 he was named Director of the
Rimini Choir, Alessandro Grandi. He led
this choir in several performances, including in
important venues such as St. Peter’s Basilica in
Rome - where he was able to meet Pope John Paul
the Second - and in Milan’s Cathedral. He is
also the Artistic Director and Conductor of the
professional group Musica Ficta Vocal
Ensemble. He has also conducted the
Lithuanian Jauna Muzika Choir , the Latvian
Ave Sol and the Tudor Consort from New
Zealand. Mr. Angelini is the Artistic
Director of the International Festival
Voices from America held annually in
Rimini each spring. He is also the Artistic
Director and member of the Jury of the
International Organ competition, Marcello Galanti.
He was also member of the Jury at the following
International Choir’s Competitions: Grand Prix
Slovakia, City of Warsaw International Choral
Competition, Malta Choir Festival,
Cantonigros Choir Competition, Jersey Choir
Competition, The Prague Competition for Blind
Musicians, The Rhodes Music Competition. He
frequently leads choral workshops in Italy and
abroad. He is the artistic director and one of the
tutors at the Rimini International Choral
Workshop, where he teaches with Peter Phillips
of the Tallis Scholars. He is also the Artistic
Director of the Rimini International Choir
Competition. His professional memberships
include the Artistic Committee of AERCO
(Regional Association of Choirs), FENIARCO
(National Italian Federation of Regional Choral
Associations), ABCD (British Association of
Choral Directors) and RCO (The Royal College
of Organists). He is a regular reviewer for the
press and a qualified elementary and secondary
school teacher. He has written numerous
transcriptions for choirs and chamber ensembles,
including a monumental transcription of Antonio
Vivaldi's Gloria in D RV589, for choir, soloists,
and organ (with the organ part being quite suited to
the instrument). His transcription of Faure's
Requiem is published by Gelber Hund Verlag of
Berlin, who are also publishers of a book of
repertoire for organ and violin, edited by Mr.
Angelini. For the American CanticaNOVA
Publication, he has prepared transcriptions of
important Renaissance Anthems. |
