The dates of the Master Classes will be: 4 – 17 August 2008

Lessons:

The Master Class lasts 13 days, from Monday 4 August until Sunday 17 August 2008.

The lessons are organized as follows:

from 9,00 until 13,00: individual study with the tutors according with the timetable.

from 13,00 until 14,30: free time for lunch.

from 14,30 until 19,00: individual study with the tutors according with the timetable.

Each private lesson will last 30 minutes. During lessons the other students could attend lectures as auditors. In this way each student may have the possibility to learn directly from the tutors during the whole day. At least 7 private lessons will be guaranteed for each student along the duration of the Master Class (14 days). The Master Class will start with a minimum of 26 application.

The Master Class will takes place at the High School of Music of the Republic of San Marino (www.ims.sm), Via Oddone Scarito 33, Borgo Maggiore, Repubblica di San Marino. During the Master Class 4 classrooms with piano are at students' disposal for individual studying. The official languages will be Italian and English.

Study programme and certificate

The study programme of the Master will be proposed by the student and will consist of 4 or 5 arias possibly chosen among the Italian repertoire giving to the student the possibility to improve also the Italian language. According to the characteristics and demands of each student, the teachers will decide and modify the programme in the course of the Master Class. During lessons the tutors will teach every aspect connected to the vocal technique and interpretation for singers and Italian diction and solfege as well, if necessary. The Final Concert will be attended by the best students. It will take place on the last Saturday  at 9.00 pm. Appropriate dressings are therefore required. The tutors reserve the right to decide who will be admitted to sing at the concert. At the end of the course the artistic direction will issue an attendance certificate for each student. In some cases tutors may decide to give a merit certificate.

Admission criteria

The course is addressed to singers of any nationality. All foreigners students must have all required documents including social security for the medical assistance.

fees and enrolment

Euros 480,00 for each student (taxes included). The cost includes private lessons and uncountable time as auditor, the use of other class-rooms to study. It will not include board and lodging and travel expenses. The deadline for application is 14^th May 2008. Payment as follows: A deposit of 200 Euros together the application and the balance (280 Euros) within the 27 July 2008. Payment methods:

BOARD AND LODGING

The Musica Ficta Association will provide to find the best solution to lodge the participants at the workshop. All the following economical aspect regarding the matter (like requesting of payment by the hotel and so on) will be deal by the China Scholarship Council or directly by the students. The Musica Ficta Association disclaims all the responsibility regarding missed payment to the hotels. The Musica Ficta Association will suggest a list of pubs, bars and restaurants where the students will find good food at reasonable price. 

TERM OF BOOKING

-          The deposit is non-refundable.

-          Cancellation: In the unlikely event of cancellation of the course, deposit and/or balance fees will be refunded in full.
